He began it defending the insurance industry, including companies such as Allstate, State Farm and Geico, along with Fortune 500 businesses. Those years showed him how insurers evaluate injury claims, how adjusters are trained to keep payouts low, and what it actually takes to move a claim toward a fair result. In 1996, he took that knowledge to the other side of the table and founded Hancock Injury Attorneys. Mike now has more than 35 years of experience in personal injury law, and that early insight still shapes how we build every case. We anticipate the arguments the insurance company is going to make and prepare for them from the first day. ## We only represent injured people We represent people hurt by someone else's negligence, and families who have lost a loved one. That includes car, truck and motorcycle crashes, slip and falls, pedestrian and bicycle accidents, boating accidents, catastrophic injuries such as brain and spinal cord injuries, and wrongful death. We do not represent insurance companies, so there is never a question about whose side we are on. ## Small on purpose You may not hear our name in every commercial break, and that is by design. Meet the team. ## Rooted in Tampa Mike is a second-generation Tampa native who is raising his family where his parents raised him. Our main office sits on Fletcher Avenue in North Tampa, embedded in the Carrollwood community where Mike lives and volunteers. We also have offices in Wesley Chapel and Spring Hill, and we help clients throughout Tampa Bay and across Florida. We are a family firm in the plainest sense. Mike and Claire Hancock are attorneys and partners, and their daughter Grace works with us too. We think about clients the same way: no one protects you more than family, and when we take your case, we know we are representing your whole household. ## Our purpose and mission Our purpose is to hold insurance companies accountable, pressing them to pay full and fair compensation without needless delay when our clients are hurt in car accidents, slip and falls and other incidents throughout Florida.
